New updates

To anyone trying out my first prototype,

Firstly, thank you for the interest. I’m taking a bit of time on updating this version of the game because right now I’m in the middle of deciding in which direction to take the game. I’ve made tweaks to the character, the jump, and another feature I don’t want to give away yet. I really wanted to have it in my game after I got inspired by another.

Initially, I was going for a precision platformer with different levels and that was pretty much the bulk of the game. It’s my first game that I’m releasing so I wanted to keep it simple and keep the goal in mind of just finishing and publishing it. Of course, it has to be fun just to play! That’s the focus. But lately as I’ve been working on the project I’ve read reviews on other projects that are similar to what I’m attempting  and made me think that my game is “TOO SHALLOW”. I’m not going to lie, that shot my confidence but as a developer, we are in our heads too much so I’m not really sweating it. Comes with the territory. But the question I’m trying to answer currently is if I should finish the current idea and keep this direction or change the direction of the game and add something else like a story or some kind of incentive for people to play past the first level?
